I'd been thinking about what I could give up for Lent, and also thinking about trying vegetarianism. So, in an epiphany of sorts the other day whilst thinking about nothing in particular, i decided to give up meat for lent. I've come up with some "rules" for myself (because, what OCD person doesn't like rules)
basically:
-I'm still drinking milk, and eating cheese and such.
-I'm not going to get too bent out of shape about eating foods that might have, say, chicken stock, in them. I'm sure this is probably "wrong", but I need to buy some prepared stuff (like soups and such) for my lunch, and I can't afford all the organic stuff.
-For right now, I'm saying I can have fish and/or chicken 3 times a week. This again is to cover the fact that I like to eat soup or a frozen entree for lunch, and I can't afford the more expensive stuff. This may change if I see I can do ok with not eating it that many times, especially to cut out the chicken.
So we'll see where this leads.
In other news
-I got asked to play bass bells in a ensemble at church.
-Bob and Dean are moving from their beautiful condo, and all the way to palm springs *sniff, sniff*
-I am so busy this week it's not funny. I have ash wednesday service tonight, then because of the bell thing i have to be at church at 5:30. I'm hoping that i'll have 6:30-7:30 off to go get some food.
-i'm so glad I'm not cleaning anymore. I do need to find some other employment though.
-I hope it doens' bother people that I'm really irregular in my capitalization.
-I have some thoughts on my joining KAUMC, that I really should write out. the gist is, I think these people are confusing "church membership" with "accepting Christ" I'll try to expound on that later.
-I feel so blessed to have friends here in town. I love my out-of-town friends dearly, and with all my heart- but I'm glad I'm building some friendships with people close by as well.
-weight is still flucuating around 252.5
-March came in like a Lamb. That means we should watch out for the end of the month. Of all the wives' tales I have heard in my lie, this is maybe the only one I believe. In my experience, it hasn't been wrong.
