Nov. 6th, 2006 12:00 pmI hardly know where to begin
Yesterday was as perfect a day I can remember. I am still smiling.
The concert went really well. Everything fell into place and it was so good. All of my stuff seemed to go well and was well received. I got a lot of positive feedback from everyone. I had a couple of iffy moments in the solo but everyone said they couldn't tell. I was especially pleased with how well Manatee went.
The afterparty was also fun. In the course of the night I had 4 captain and cokes, 2 cosmos, and a shot of patron with cream. I was a happy, happy girl.
I was so happy that so many friends got to come. All my Daves were there, plus several other people that I really care about as well. I can't start to explain how wonderful it made feel when Dave D came up after the first half and grabbed me and hugged me and said "I'm so proud of you!" So many other people too- and thinking on it now I can't remember the last time anyone told me they were proud of me. You guys are truly my chosen family and I love each and every one of you.
I'm already looking forward to the spring. Of course there is no rest for the wicked...we have brass starting back tomorrow night.
I think maybe this will help start to heal the wounds I've carried since leaving Mt Hope...
