WOOHOO

I got a snow day, I got a snow day!

It looked nasty out there, but I was being the good employee and getting ready early to go break my car out. Then my cellphone rang, and I didn't recognize the number. It was Eric telling me no work today! *happyhappyjoyjoy*

Unfortunately I was already up and showered so I've decided to stay up. I did put some jammies on, and I'm going to make me a mocha. I should do the laundry which won't take long, and then I need to get the car cleaned off at some point. I might go out around noon or 1pm and see if the gas station and Target are open. I'm supposed to meet some friends for a movie this evening- we'll play that by ear.

Hopefullly somewhere in that jam packed schedule I'll find time to post a little.

SO far I've done laundry, cleaned off the car, made lunch, and shovelled the walk out front.
I still need to put the clothes away, write up my band pieces, and make a couple of phone calls.

The shoveling was very hard. The snow itself wasn't heavy, but it was a bitch to break through the layer of ice on top. Luckily, my work on the car last night paid off because I didn't have much to do this morning. I was outside a bit too long- my eyes had a hard time readjusting to the light indoors, and it took several minutes to feel my toes. I did get a good workout. I feel weak as a kitten now. I also watched people get stuck in the snow on the street out front. My back porch is still a mess though- I couldn't get it to melt.

Lunch was fantastic. I made some soup/chili on Monday- I sweated onion, jalepeno, and garlic in the pan then I added salt, pepper, cumin, oregano, parsley, and some "essence". Then I put in: corn, black beans, red beans, potatoes, diced tomatoes, and vegetable stock. It was awesome! Today for lunch I that plus I browned some thin slices of baguette in butter in a skillet and then topped it with sharp cheddar cheese. YUMMY!!

I'm trying to decide about the movie tonight. I kinda want to stay in. As of 1pm we're still under a level 2 so I'm thinking we might need to postpone yet again. :-(

There is a dining room set up for sale on craigslist that is almost exactly what I'm looking for- they are asking 200 OBO- I wonder if I should offer 125 or 150? Especially considering I'd have to haul it (I hope Phil will let me use his truck). It would be worth between 250 and 300 new.
