ok, the next person who says to me "welcome to the rest of the world- we've all been paying this much for gasoline for a long time" might get a kick in the shin.
Yes, I understand that comparatively we have paid less than most other countries, but all those countries have fabulous mass transit systems. Here in the US if you don't live in NYC, or a handful of other huge cities, you're SOL if you can't afford to have a car. And Yes, I hope this helps kick people into gear about getting our oil use under control, but those solutions take time anduntil that happens it's gonna be really tough on alot of people. /rant
