just because this made me happy

Just thought I would say hello.
I wanted to apologize for sounding so negative. It's not like this place is all terrible. I do enjoy the band- they listen, they try to do what I ask of them. My other classes have good days too. I have some good kids- exsaperating at times, but pretty good.
Stuff like All-County makes me want to stay here, and fix things. To work on making thisband and music program better. MAybe I am more like you than I would care to admit. How many years have i heard you say "Oh, this is my last yearhere, I am going to get a job......"
Love
Michelle
P.S.- I am going to check those drums- I am not entirely sure they even have drum heads. But any of old ones you want, you can have, and if you want to use my marching bass drums you may. As long as I get them, and my mellophone back. :-)
[his reply :-D]
What mellophone? hee hee rofl!
And you are more like me than you probably should admit. but you
probably need to go ahead and get out. The difference between my
situation and yours is that yours will continue to go down and may not be there after a year or two. Not because of you but because of the area and the fact that your school will not stay there if the state comes in. I would hate to see you get burnt out as you seem to be doing so well. You have so much talent and I am so proud of you! You are definitely the second best director in the county (hee hee haw haw) and I am proud to say that you were my student. You could do so much given the chance at a real school and I would love to see you get that chance. Consolidation will happen and then you may have passed up the good jobs somewhere else. Also, i recommend getting your masters before you go
too much farther because once you settle down, it is almost impossible to get it.
Any way that is all the advice i can think of right now.
Again, i am very proud of you and wish you the best of luckin whatever decision you make. You know I will be here to help you in any way I can.
God bless you,
mccoy
