it's been an ok weekend.
Saturday I worked then I came home and vegetated. (my pervoius post explains some of Saturday night's fun.)
Sunday was a busy day. I got up and did laundry then headed to church. That went well. Everyone enjoyed "Praise His Holy Name." After the service I went upstairs to help Leigh clear the room of all the CHristmas decorations. *grumble*. I ran home, grabbed a bite to eat and then took off back to the church for rehearsal. Rehearsal went really well. I think we're going to be ok. Jazz band was sparse, but ok. We'll see.
Gene was there. It made me sad to see Dave and Tom not having a good time. I had glossed over the finer points of his behavior in my mind since last concert. I really think his intentions are pure- he wants to the group to be good,- but he doesn't have the social skills to share that knowledge correctly. *sigh* It's so hard to balance being a leader and seeing things in an impartial manner and dealing with this group as a group of friends. There are people in this group who are dear to me, and to have to put with them getting hurt because of the "good of the group" is taxing on me to say the least. I will keep an eye out to make sure things don't get out of hand.
Monday- so far today has been good. I spent entirely too much at the grocery store- but I will make great soup this afternoon. It is the same that Dave and I made a few weeks ago. YAY!!
OH, how sweet is it that Dave S was going to come over and surprise me?!?! I'm so glad I have wonderful friends! (It's too bad the weather held him back. He could have had fun with us at union last ngiht)
